Emmerdale’s Bear Wolf recently admitted to the murder of villain Ray Walters

Fans of Emmerdale believe they’ve spotted a clue that can save Bear Wolf after his recent murder charge. ITV soap viewers will recall that villain Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) was killed last month, with a series of flashback episodes unveiling potential culprits. In an unexpected turn of events, it was later revealed that Bear (Joshua Richards) had killed the drug dealer, after being held hostage on Ray’s farm for several months the previous year.

Bear took drastic action to safeguard his son, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), and youngster Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle), who were under threat. In an attempt to prevent his father from telling the truth, Paddy chose to keep Bear at Tenant House, whilst minimising his contact with other villagers. However, upon observing Bear’s mental health decline, Paddy eventually agreed to let his father see a therapist.

Bear appeared to make significant strides during his counselling session last week, but soon admitted to Ray’s murder when the therapist labelled him a “good man”. Bear phoned the police himself, and was subsequently arrested, reports the Daily Star.

During Tuesday’s (February 17) episode, now available for streaming on ITVX, Paddy accompanied his father for the next round of police questioning.

Bear was quizzed about his inconsistent statements after he falsely claimed that Paddy and Dylan weren’t present at the time of the murder. Paddy repeatedly interjected during the interview to back up Bear’s account, leading DS Walsh (Amanda Ryan) to suggest that he might also be implicated.

Paddy quickly became alarmed when the detective dismissed the notion that Bear had relocated Ray’s body single-handedly.

Later, Paddy briefed Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and his wife Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), who had recently arrived back from Ireland. The circumstances then became increasingly concerning when DC Chen (Tuyen Do) turned up at the cottage and requested that Paddy and Dylan attend the police station for questioning the following day.

Moments after the officers departed, an anxious Paddy said: “That’s it, they’re going to figure it all out… None of you were there today. They do not buy that my dad got rid of Ray on his own. They definitely think I was involved. We’re going to go down for this. I’m telling you, I know it.”

Now, numerous Emmerdale viewers believe that Dylan might provide false testimony to the police and claim that he was solely responsible, resulting in Bear’s freedom.

Dylan has lately expressed his remorse to Paddy regarding Ray’s death, having been the first person to become involved with the villain. Will he take the blame?

“I think Dylan will confess to helping Bear to save Paddy and that’s how he will leave,” one viewer posted on a Facebook fan page. Others appeared to concur, with another person commenting: “I’ve thought that the last couple of episodes. He hasn’t been himself,” whilst a third remarked: “I think Dylan is going to leave now that this Ray/Celia plot is wrapping up, so this could be a way of him leaving (going to jail).”

A fourth viewer shared similar thoughts, saying: “Paddy will be devastated, but I can see Dylan taking all the blame for this. Either way, it’s going to be a tough watch.”

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and STV, and Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and STV as part of ITV’s new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale
