Ex-con Kev, played by Chris Coghill, recently turned up in the Dales as the unexpected husband of Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), whom he met while in prison.
Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was left furious when he discovered Robert was already married, just as the former lovers were trying to rekindle their relationship.
Robert later explained that Kev’s heart condition meant he didn’t have long to live, leading to his release from prison on compassionate grounds. However, after Kev suffered a heart attack, Robert found himself torn between Aaron and his dying — and wealthy — husband, ultimately choosing to stay with Kev.”

However, as Kev and Robert prepare to renew their vows, some Emmerdale fans are convinced Kev is faking his terminal illness to keep Robert by his side — and they’re calling for the ‘lovable’ character to stick around for good.
On Reddit, one viewer commented: ‘Honestly, I’m kind of hoping the show either reveals that Kev is cured or that his illness was a lie all along, because I’m really enjoying his character so far (he’s oddly kind of cute).'”
