Emmerdale newcomer Kev Townsend’s son’s true identity has been exposed.
Emmerdale fans now “know” the real identity of Kev Townsend’s son — and it isn’t Lewis Barton.
Newcomer Kev (Chris Coghill) made his debut on the ITV soap this year after moving to the Dales following a long prison sentence for bank robbery.
It later emerged that Kev had married Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) while behind bars. At the time, Robert had no idea Kev would ever be released, so their romance developed as a way for him to cope with life in prison.
Now free, Kev hopes to enjoy wedded bliss with Robert in the village, much to Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) heartbreak.
Last month, Robert cheated on Kev with Aaron on the very day he was meant to renew his vows with Kev. Despite this, Robert and Kev went ahead with the vow renewal, though Kev was unaware that Robert had begun an affair with Aaron.
This week, it was revealed that Kev has an estranged son. The former criminal admitted that a “crazy one-night stand” with a woman from Leeds had led to the birth of his son.
While many fans suspect Kev’s son might be Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches), others are convinced it’s just a “red herring.”
In Friday’s episode (November 14), as Paddy’s (Dominic Brunt) father Bear (Joshua Richards) remained missing, Dylan (Fred Kettle) tried to encourage Paddy to open up about his feelings.
The conversation then turned to Dylan’s own father. Paddy asked, “Have you ever thought about looking up your dad?” Dylan replied, “No chance. Waste of space.”
Now, fans are speculating that Kev’s son could actually be Dylan. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: “I think it’s a red herring… it’s making us all think it’s Lewis.
“I think maybe Lewis will pursue it, do a DNA test, come back negative… and it’s actually Dylan… and he’ll save everyone from Celia’s evil clutches!”
Another fan added: “I was thinking the same — Kev will save the day and everyone will love him then!” A third wrote: “That’s what I think too. It’s too obvious that it would be Lewis; soaps love giving us a twist.”
