Emmerdale viewers were distracted during Wednesday’s ITV episode as they noticed a mistake in Bear Wolf’s modern slavery storyline involving Ray.

Emmerdale viewers have noticed a major mistake in a recent storyline involving Bear. Paddy Kirk’s dad has been missing for several weeks, leaving his family worried and uninformed until now.

The situation, however, is far more serious. Bear becomes caught up in modern slavery on Celia and Ray’s farm, where he and several others are forced to work without pay, which is against the law.

He explained: “It’s something you can gradually get drawn into, especially if you’ve been manipulated in a certain way. At a certain age, when you might feel useless or redundant, if someone convinces you that you are valuable, that you have some sort of worth — currency being the key term — you can be manipulated into a situation you never imagined yourself in. It’s really fascinating how this actually happens.”

Joshua, who plays Bear, also discussed how he prepared for this intense storyline, according to The Mirror.

He explained: “All I can do is approach it like an old-fashioned actor and read the script, because I’m not a fan of method acting. I didn’t seclude myself in a tent or hide out in the countryside trying to mimic the experience.

“No, I simply read the scripts and used my imagination to put myself in the shoes of real people in those situations. Essentially, it’s all guided by the excellent research and the writers of the show.”

However, in tonight’s episode, viewers were distracted by a noticeable mistake.

Ray, following instructions from his mother Celia, was told to humiliate Bear in front of the other captives after Bear took the blame for the chicken-plucking incident.

As Ray went to strike Bear, fans were left puzzled. One viewer asked: “Come on Bear, you just saw Ray didn’t really hurt you — he injured his own hand. Take him down! Doesn’t anyone check on that farm?”

Another wrote: “That slap seemed to hurt Ray’s hand more than Bear’s chin! Bear didn’t even flinch — being an ex-wrestler and all #Emmerdale.” A third commented: “Call that a slap, Ray? Can’t wait for Bear to get back to his old self. Ray won’t stand a chance. Bear was a wrestler — why wouldn’t he just knock Ray out? #Emmerdale.” A fifth added: “That looked like it hurt Ray more than Bear #Emmerdale.”
