EXCLUSIVE: Lisa Riley shared what is in store for her Emmerdale character, Mandy Dingle, as she admitted Christmas will bring heartbreak on the ITV soap.
An Emmerdale star has warned fans of the ITV soap to grab their tissues as emotional scenes will air over the Christmas period. Lisa Riley, who is best known for playing the role of Mandy Dingle, let slip that there will be heartbreak and drama as the cast have already filmed for the festive period.
Speaking on behalf of Buzz Bingo, Lisa exclusively told Express.co.uk: “We’re so far ahead, it’s really weird because I’m filming for mid-January now. I’ve actually got my scripts here as we speak. Over Christmas, it’s all about finding Bear; it’s going to be really heartbreaking. His story is going to go on for a long time. You’re going to see Mandy and Paddy really lean on each other. You can guarantee that with the Dingles, there’s always drama. Dingle all the way, that’s Christmas.” For the last few months, Emmerdale fans have been wondering what exactly is going on with Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) as he had been acting quite strange before suddenly vanishing from the village, lying to his son about where he was staying.
Since then, fans haven’t had any updates and his whereabouts have remained unknown.
Meanwhile, addressing her own future on the ITV soap, Lisa, who joined Emmerdale in 1995, told us: “I’m very much signed for the show, I’m not going anywhere and have no intention of going anywhere.”
However, speaking about how she would like to see her character wave goodbye to Emmerdale in the very distant future, she added: “I’ve always said she [Mandy] was iconic to have the first-ever leopard print wedding dress.
“If and when, I think she would have to have a leopard print coffin. It’s iconic, it’s the right of passage. That would have to be the case, and there would have to be pink ribbons.
“I think she’d want the whole congregation to be in pink and leopard print as well. Nobody could ever come in black, she’d be livid.
“You could hear her playing a memo or something that she already recorded, saying, ‘If anyone’s wearing black, get out.’ I can see that happening. Hopefully not for many, many years to come. I’ve just celebrated my 30th. I’d like to do 30 more years.”
