Emmerdale fans have shared their concerns as Ray Walters’ sinister storyline continues

Emmerdale fans believe they’ve exposed Ray Walters’ murder victim, and it’s bad news for Rhona Goskirk.

ITV soap fans will be aware that April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) has been reluctantly peddling drugs for Ray (Joe Absolom) and his wicked mother Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), in an effort to settle her boyfriend Dylan Penders’ (Fred Kettle) debt.

It was subsequently revealed that Celia and Ray were also holding Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) hostage on their farm, along with several other captives. After Dylan threatened to inform the police, Ray struck him with his car. The youngster has only just regained consciousness from a coma at Hotten General.

April has since confided in her parents, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), about the difficulties she’s recently encountered under Celia and Ray’s control.

Marlon and Rhona have attempted to pay off Ray in hopes he’ll leave April alone, but the villain continues to extort the distressed couple, reports the Daily Star.

Rhona’s mother, Mary (Louise Jameson), returned to the village this week, with Rhona desperately trying to keep her oblivious to Ray’s involvement in their lives.

In Tuesday’s episode (December 16), now available to stream on ITVX, Rhona expressed concern over the potential repercussions of Mary discovering the truth about April’s ongoing plight.

Subsequently, Ray attempted to impress Mary by assisting her with some weighty shopping bags. Mary was thrilled by his assistance, and afterwards informed Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) that he would be an excellent partner for her.

However, Rhona vehemently disagreed, heightening her mother’s suspicions that she was concealing something significant. Upon returning to Smithy Cottage, Rhona made her position abundantly clear by requesting that Mary move out.

“Now April is back home again, it finally feels like we’re getting back to some kind of normality. April’s happy. But it’s made us realise that she needs her own space, we all do. Sorry mum, I hate doing this. It’s just too crowded when you’re here, it’s too much pressure,” Rhona declared, moments before a heated row erupted between the mother and daughter.

An exasperated Mary responded: “I’m not buying this. You can’t expect me to move out without telling me why. I don’t believe word of it.”

When Rhona proposed she return to Cornwall or lodge with acquaintances in Kent, Mary exclaimed: “Are you sure that’s far enough? I’ll give NASA a ring, shall I? See if they need somebody on the space station.

“Don’t you dare behave like I’m being unreasonable. I’m the one that’s being asked to leave for no reason. I’m going to ask you again, what’s going on, Rhona?”

Rather than revealing the truth to her mother, Rhona found herself uttering words that could potentially destroy their bond permanently.

Several Emmerdale viewers have since speculated that Ray might murder Mary in future episodes to maintain control over Rhona and Marlon.

One fan expressed their concern on a Facebook fan page, stating: “I’m worried for Mary. Really think she could get caught in the crossfire with Ray,” while another echoed this sentiment, saying: “Yeah I think so too, she could be Ray’s next murder victim.”

A third viewer shared: “I feel like they’ve been teasing Mary’s exit for ages now and this seems like it could be the way she leaves,” and another added: “God it would be awful if Ray kills Mary before she has time to patch things up with Rhona.”
