Fans of Emmerdale and Coronation Street are in for a thrilling twist as the two iconic soaps prepare for a special crossover episode airing in January.

Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle in Emmerdale, has teased that her character could share a romantic spark with Corrie’s Carla Connor, portrayed by Alison King.
Speaking on This Morning, Emma was coy but tantalizing: “There’s a smidge of flirt, but that’s all I can tell you. Let’s wait and see.”

The revelation comes amid gossip about Carla and Lisa’s relationship on Coronation Street, leaving fans buzzing with speculation about what could unfold in the crossover.
The crossover episode, affectionately dubbed Corriedale by fans, gives viewers the unique opportunity to vote for one of four scenes pairing Emmerdale and Corrie characters.

Filming began in late September, with both Leeds and Manchester sets buzzing with excitement. ITV’s Executive Producer Iain Macleod promised a “mind-blowing, historical and unmissable” experience for soap fans, describing the on-screen interactions as spectacular.

With romance, drama, and beloved characters from both soaps sharing the screen, the Corriedale crossover is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated TV events of the year.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
